MEET THE TEAM
Michael Okerlund serves as Cloud Court's CEO. He started his career as a patent litigation attorney litigating for and against some of the largest companies in the world. He then moved in-house to serve as the general counsel of several public and private companies. A veteran of hundreds of litigation cases, he's developed strong opinions regarding how technology can radically improve the way attorneys prepare for, take and defend depositions.
Norman Taple is a Founder of Cloud Court and serves as our General Counsel and Board Chair. Norm is a serial entrepreneur and a former trial attorney, having previously served as a Partner at Best & Flanagan LLP, as the President and Founder of Katzman Monument Co., LLC, and as a President/Co-Founder of National Locker Systems, LLC. Norm concurrently serves as Chief Operating Officer at Gurstel Law Firm, P.C.
Ling Ling Nie
Ling Ling is a legal executive who has led and developed high-performing in-house teams in both the private and public sectors and across various industries. She is Deputy GC, Chief Compliance and ESG Officer for Aura, and is a board member of several non-profits. She formerly served as Georgia Tech's General Counsel and Panasonic's Chief Compliance Officer, and prior to that, held various roles at the US Treasury Department.
Jonathan is an accomplished executive with expertise in launching new technologies in legaltech. He focuses on positioning, business model design, and finding fit with clients. His curriculum vitae includes tech strategy and business process consulting for many F500 legal departments as well as senior leadership roles with EY, Cataphora Legal (acquired by EY), and IKON (acquired by Ricoh). He is a dedicated fan of Saint Bernards, Chicago sports teams, and his family.
Dr. Milena Higgins serves as Cloud Court's Chief Technology Officer. She is a scientist (PhD, Physics) and a leader (MS in Management of Technology) who has been building legal tech solutions since 2001. Dr. Higgins brings to Cloud Court a deep and varied knowledge of data analytics, artificial intelligence, patent litigation, software development, project management, and 80's alternative music.
Bennet Goldberg serves on Cloud Court Inc., Board of Directors, and is a senior advisor to the company. Mr. Goldberg brings to Cloud Court over 30 years of executive management experience. He has served as an advisor and board member for numerous early-stage companies, including Bustle (BDG Media), Inverse, Atlas LiftTech, GameOn Technology, ZyBooks, and Bleacher Report.
Andy is a litigator at Norton Rose Fulbright and an advisor to Cloud Court. He also serves on the Minneapolis Commission on Civil Rights. Andy understands the technical and cultural litigation challenges faced by large corporations and law firms, and he excels in exploring technical and process innovation to solve thorny problems. Previously Andy was an attorney at Blackwell Burke P.A., Robins Kaplan LLP, and Perkins Coie LLP.
Christy is a Shareholder at Nilan Johnson Lewis, with her litigation practice focused on product liability, complex torts and class action defense. Christy has served as national trial counsel for a number of companies, including those in the vehicle, watercraft and transportation industries, among many others.
Paul Siegel serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Cloud Court. He is a seasoned executive, investor and serial entrepreneur. Paul previously served as a Division President of Core-Mark International, as the Vice President/Co-Founder of National Locker Systems, LLC, and as the CFO of a national law firm.
Joe Longtin serves as CloudCourt’s Product Marketing Manager. A lifelong technology marketeer, he cut his teeth on niche software at Quest Software and X1 Discovery, as well as ERP, data warehousing, survey and assessment, and workforce management. Joe has led successful marketing teams through early growth and many transitions. He enjoys using the Pragmatic Marketing framework and methodology.
Gillian is a recognized authority in legaltech innovation and has led the technology disciplines for multiple law firms, most recently as CIO at Lathrop GPM LLP. She thrives on ambitious integration and digital transformation projects. Gillian has led development of educational sessions for ILTA as a thought leader and lectured at the University of Johannesburg. She holds an executive MBA from the University of Missouri, Kansas City where she focused on innovation and entrepreneurship. She is passionate about talent development, diversity, and inclusion.
